Skolnick Weiser Law Firm Applauds New Law Preventing Abuse in Nursing Homes

News   February 20, 2024

As reported by Fox 2 Detroit in their article “Ohio law allowing cameras in nursing home rooms to prevent abuse goes into effect,” a new law in the state of Ohio will allow electronic monitoring devices like cameras to be installed in rooms of nursing home residents to prevent abuse.

“Esther’s Law…aims to prevent elder abuse. It requires nursing home facilities to make reasonable accommodations for such cameras, and it prohibits them from retaliating against residents who wish to install them,” Fox 2 Detroit said.
